Freda Maxine (Morris) Williams, 75, of Arkansas City died Thursday (July 3, 2008) at the Presbyterian Manor Health Care Unit. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Thursday (July 10, 2008) at the St. Paul United Methodist Church. Burial will be 2:30 p.m. that day at the Maramec Odd Fellows Cemetery, Maramec, Oklahoma. The Reverend Jack Dickson will officiate.
Freda was born August 21, 1932 in Pawnee, Oklahoma to Ivan and Lilly Mae Morris. She went to school in Arkansas City. She married Harold Burnett at Cushing, Oklahoma in 1948. The couple made their home in Jennings and had five children. Freda later moved to Chicago, Illinois and worked at the Martin Aircraft Company. She moved back to Arkansas City in 1970 and worked at G.E. for 21 years She married Glen Williams on July 4, 1972. She was a member of the St. Paul United Methodist Church.
Survivors include a daughter Phyllis Winters of Benton, Missouri; two sons Tom Burnett of Lexington, Oklahoma, Jim Burnett of Derby, Kansas; stepson Kenny Williams of Augusta, Kansas; two stepdaughters Jody Hoet of Liberal, Kansas, Mavis Williams of Wichita; a sister Sharon Jernigan of Blackwell; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands Harold Burnett and Glen Williams, daughters Donna Griffith and Patty Golden, Brother Bill Morris; sisters Inez Bay and Shirley Morris and two grandchildren Julie Hensley and Kenneth Bennett.
A memorial has been established with the American Lung Association. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
